Most Frequently Asked
What is xBrowse?
xBrowse is a powerful, easy-to-use cross-browser testing service. Web professionals and non-professionals alike use xBrowse to quickly and reliably test their website(s) on the most popular browsers and operating systems.
What sets xBrowse apart?
xBrowse is the easiest-to-use cross-browser testing solution on the market. Our tool excels in allowing users to quickly switch between and compare renderings. We also provide integrated code inspection tools that make xBrowse a superior choice for web developers and other industry professionals.
How is xBrowse different from Adobe BrowserLab or Litmus?
In our opinion, Adobe Browserlab and Litmus are both excellent cross-browser testing services. Both of these services cater mostly to the needs of web designers. xBrowse is a better choice for the professional web developer who wants to interactively fix problems as they are found. Given its considerable ease of use, xBrowse may arguably also be the best choice for casual web enthusiast or site owner.
Is SAAS / cloud the best solution for us?
xBrowse is offered as via a SAAS (Software as a Service) model. SAAS offers several advantages over traditional in-house testing solutions:
- Price - xBrowse offers significant cost savings over other solutions.
- Technology - xBrowse doesn’t require any sophisticated technical or engineering skills to use.
- Coverage - xBrowse offers a more complete suite of browsers than typically available via other solutions.
Another benefit of SAAS is that you can try it for free. Check it out!

What OSs do you support? JavaScript support? Flash support?
We currently support testing on OS X (10.6), Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. We keep Flash updated to the latest version, and JavaScript is turned on when we run our tests.
My screenshot is only coming in at 3200 pixel high. Why?
In order to provide the fastest most responsive service possible, xBrowse places a maximum capture height on tall pages of 3200 pixels. We hope this is sufficiently tall for you to test most pages. If you need to capture your screenshot at a taller height, let us know.
Fonts look different when I test my webpage using xBrowse. Why?
In order to simulate what most of your site visitors will see, we run xBrowse tests with the most common default operating system fonts. For Mac, this means the fonts that ship natively with OS X. For Windows, this means the native Windows fonts. We suggest you provide fallback fonts in your CSS so that your site will still look clean to users that don’t have extended custom fonts.
